about
In our winter 2021 pandemic season, "Try," a song performed by Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends, is newly resonant and relevant. It's an anthem of encouragement: to live in the here-and-now, appreciate the universe around us, and take heart in everyday connections to all with whom we share the planet.
Give a listen. We hope it will help you feel the sunshine (feel the sunshine).
"Try" was released originally in fall 2015 as a surprise single to kick off a brief tour in the UK by the rock trio Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends. The band sent the song as a thank-you gift to concertgoers as well as to purchasers of the band's self-titled studio album which came out earlier that same year. The album is also available here on Bandcamp.

TRY
written by Reeves Gabrels, James H Rubin, David Hull
Try
Try
We've gone to a new place
It's all gone in one day
Unlock the ball and chain
Then ride through silver days
It's a series of dreams
That can wait until... (until ya, until ya)
Try
To be patient (patient now, patient now)
Try
To feel the sunshine (feel the sunshine)
I don't understand it
How this planet keeps spinning
Unlock the ball and chain
And I ride through silver haze
It's a series of dreams
That can wait until... (wait until ya)
Try
To be patient (patient now, patient now)
Try
To feel the sunshine (feel the sunshine)
Try
To get closer (closer now, closer now)
Try
To see the moonshine
//
Try
Unlock the ball and chain
And I ride through silver days
It's a series of dreams
That can wait until... (until ya, until ya)
Try
To be patient
Try
To feel the sunshine
Try
To get closer (closer now, closer now)
Try
To feel the moonshine (feel the moonshine)

Yet another great album by the inimitable Bill Nelson. This time, a collaboration with Reeves Gabrels. R. G. sometimes played music with David Bowie. One of the greatest guitarists / musicians I had the pleasure to listen to. I really love his music. My pesonal recommendation. heinz1959
This recording makes a great workout companion! All tracks exercise my mind while I'm power walking the hills where I live in Massachusetts. Keeps the feet moving for my daily 3 miles. Thank you MFTJ and all Keneally music. rondidonato
